Temperature Converter (all scales)

Celsius, Fahrenheit, Kelvin.

How this calculator works

Converts between Celsius, Fahrenheit, and Kelvin.

K = °C + 273.15. °F = °C × 9/5 + 32. Absolute zero = 0 K = −273.15 °C = −459.67 °F.

Kelvin has no negative numbers by design, since it's anchored to absolute zero — the coldest physically possible temperature — rather than an arbitrary reference point like water's freezing point.

Example

25 °C = 77.00 °F.

Frequently asked questions

Why Kelvin?

SI absolute scale — no negative values, starts at absolute zero. Standard in scientific and engineering work.

Rankine scale?

Fahrenheit's absolute version, rare outside US engineering. 0 R = absolute zero.

Is a 'degree' Kelvin the same size as a degree Celsius?

Yes — a one-degree change is identical in size on both scales; Kelvin just shifts the starting point to absolute zero instead of water's freezing point.
